There are two wonderful events coming up for families of gifted children!

New to Gifted: Gifted Education in PA and the GIEP

Join us for a special Parent-2-Parent session designed for families who are new to gifted education or looking for a helpful refresher to start the year. We’ll walk through the basics of gifted education in Pennsylvania and demystify the Gifted Individualized Education Plan (GIEP). PAGE Board members will share guidance, resources, and personal insights to help parents feel confident in navigating the process and advocating for their child. This is a supportive space to ask questions, connect with other parents, and learn how to best support your gifted learner’s journey.

About the presenter:
Emily Kircher-Morris, LPC, is a mental health professional and advocate for neurodiversity, with a deep commitment to creating inclusive and supportive environments for all students. In addition to her clinical work, Emily is the host of the popular Neurodiversity Podcast, where she explores a wide range of topics related to neurodivergence, often interviewing leading experts, educators, and individuals with lived experience.
Emily is the author of several books related to the development of neurodivergent children and teens.
Neurodiversity-Affirming Schools: Transforming Practices So All Students Feel Accepted and Supported (Free Spirit Publishing, 2025), with co-author Amanda Morin, offers a paradigm shift in how schools can better support neurodivergent learners.
Parent's Guide to Gifted Children: A Resource for Caregivers and Advocates (Gifted Unlimited, 2023), with co-authors Edward Amend, Psy.D. and Janet Gore, is a revised edition from the original Parent's Guide to Gifted Children, providing parents of children who are cognitively gifted the information and tools they need to help their children thrive.
“Teaching Twice-Exceptional Learners in Today's Classroom" (Free Spirit Publishing, 2021) focuses on supporting 2e learners in the educational setting, and the forthcoming
"Raising Twice-Exceptional Children: A Handbook for Parents of Neurodivergent Gifted Kids" (Routledge, 2022) is a guide for parents navigating the world of twice-exceptionality.
